Civic Engagement

your voice counts!

Participating in the civic process is one of the most important ways West Virginians can have a voice. That’s why OFWV works with communities to increase voter engagement and participation in the 2020 Census.

As a member of the #CountMeInWV Coalition, OFWV is working to increase Census participation in WV so that our state is accurately represented and funded.

2020 Census

You Count!

OFWV believes the Census is one of the most important acts of civic participation in 2020. The Census is the main data used in determining how billions of dollars of funding are distributed to WV. That's why every person living in this state must be counted!

OFWV has partnered with other organizations to form the Count Me in WV Coalition (#CountMeInWV). This coalition works to increase awareness and participation in the 2020 Census throughout WV.

Have you taken your Census yet?

Voting in 2020 and Beyond

Voter Engagement

Your Vote Counts!

OFWV understands that participation in both national, state and local elections is vital for bringing justice and equity to our communities. That is why we are working directly with community members in 2020 to hold candidate forums and increase voter registration.

WV primaries are just around the corner! Check to ensure you're registered and know where your polling place is located this electoral season.

Did you know the primaries include the election of 3 justices to the WV Supreme Court? Learn about the candidates before you vote!

Want to help your neighbors vote? Join us between April 30th and June 9th as we increase voter engagement in WV by making phone calls from the comfort of our homes! Training, fun activities and prizes included!

Upshur County FRN

Members of this Family Resource Network want to highlight the importance of counting our children in the 2020 Census. They understand that many in their county may feel hesitant to divulge their personal information but it is imperative the county gives an accurate count in order to better support families in the future. Therefore, this FRN will publicize and distribute information about the Census, specifically through local libraries and schools to better reach community members.
